Cooper Handshoe is proof positive that big things come in small packages. Cooper terrorizes the rookie league with hard hit line drives and ground balls that most coahces won't dare step in front of. Great job, Cooper. You're a rising Rookie star!
Dominique Chism is the heart and soul of the Yankees. He plays with a passion that every coach dreams of. Dominique has rounded into on of the best catchers in the Rookie league where he is always ready to block up the plate and stop a run from scoring. Congrats Nique! Keep it up!
Reece Mateyoke of the Cubs is only 7, but he swings the bat like a seasoned veteran. Reece is the only  7 year old in the Rookie league that has hit an out of the park home run this season. Don't be surprised to see a couple of more dingers from this youngster as he's getting better and better with every at bat. Reece will definitely be a force to be reconed with for the next year and a half in the Rookie league. Congrats, and keep it up Reece!

Rashad Blackburn does it all. He hits, he runs, and you better not hit it back to him on the mound, because you'll be as good as out! Rashad plays with unmatched passion, and he has never been seen without a big smile on his face! Congrats Rashad on being a rising Rookie star! Dadrien Taylor is a newcomer to Northern this year, but his impact has been felt throughout the Rookie league. Dadrian plays shortstop for the Red Sox and doesn't let much get past him! Not to mention he swings a mean stick, too, consistently driving balls to the fence while driving in runs! Great job, Dadrien!
This weeks 8 year old player of the week is none other than pro wrestling aficionado, Jack Powell. Jack is a tough nose ball player that always gives it 110%. When Jack is not performing the "Five Knuckle Shuffle" on local neighborhood kids, you can find him down on the Rookie field hitting Home Runs and driving in runs. Congrats Jack, you are a Rookie rising star!

Layne Jones is only 7, but he shure doesn't play like one. Layne roams the outfield for the Braves and is like a human fly trap! Layne has made some big plays for the Braves, and is a big reason why they are in the hunt for 1st place! Great job, Layne! Aquavion Allen of the Reds is a threat everytime he steps to the plate. Qua has belted 4 home runs so far this season and doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon. So if you are sitting in the outfield stands at a Reds game, bring your glove because you might catch a homerun ball! Qua has elevated his game and is one of our Rookie rising stars! Lance Wasik is not only one of the top 2nd basemen in the league, he is a leader for the defending champion  Reds. Lance is a gritty player that does whatever it takes to make the play, and plays with the heart of a champion. Great job, Lance! You are a Rookie rising star!

Lauryn Johnson puts the girl in girl power! Lauryn has been tearing up the Rookie league for the past two years and has found herself a home at 3rd base for the formidible Braves. She has been gunning kids out all season with her cannon of an arm and she's no slouch at the plate, either as she consistently puts the ball in the grass with every at bat. Great job, Lauren! You are a Rookie rising star! Nick Derossett of the A's is the poster child for hard work and determination!  Nick has has came on strong this year both in the field and at the plate where he helps lead his squad in nearly every category.  He is the heart and soul of the A's and is every coaches dream, and this week, he is a Rookie Rising Star!  Congrats Nick! Jordan Mosely may be the most improved player in rookie this season.  Jordan can play virtually any position for the up and coming Cubs and plays them well, consistently making big play after big play against the fierce Rookie league competition.  Jordan is no slouch at the plate either where he's one of the leaders in the Cubs potent lineup.  Great Job Jordan, your a Rising Rookie Star!

Colson Perry of the Orioles is one of the leagues premier shortstops, and proves it night after night on the rookie field.  Colson can always be counted on to make the play when his team needs him.  At the plate, Colson leads a big hitting lineup by driving shots to the fence at nearly every at-bat.  Congrats Colson, your a Rising Rookie Star!!! Marshall Mowder is a newcomer to the Rookie League this year, and he has busted on the scene in a big way.  Marshall plays a solid 2nd base for the Orioles and swings a mean stick too!!  Marshall is a homerun threat every time he steps to the plate where hitting the long ball is his specialty!  Welcome Marshall! and Congrats, your a Rookie Rising Star!
Parker Estes of the Yankees is as passionate of a player as you will ever see.  Parker plays the game with heart and determination that is not matched by many.  Parker holds it down defensively by playing nearly every position in the field where he is always a threat to make a "Sportscenter Top 10" play, and at the plate swings the bat with the best of them, driving balls to the grass with ease!  Great work Parker, your a Rising Rookie Star!

TBrown

The Cubs Tre Brown plays the pitchers mound with the best of them.  Making play after play, showcasing athleticism that few 8 year olds possess.  At the plate, Tre is a sure bet to get on base, with blinding speed that makes it tough on even the best fielder to throw him out.  We are looking for more big things out of Tre in the future.  Great job Tre!  Your a Rookie Rising Star!!!
