The following registration form must be returned along with payment to Northern Cal Ripken Baseball by no later than March 2nd. Checks can be made payable to Northern Cal Ripken. Early registration is due by January 31st. Registration forms must be submitted to a board member or postmarked by January 31st to qualify for early registration. Important Information

There are MANDATORY try-outs for all new Rookie, Major Baseball players on March 6th.

All returning Minor League players are REQUIRED to attend the try-out on March 6th.

Times for the try-outs on March 6th will be announced at a later date. They will probably be during the afternoon.

Try-outs for new T-Ball players will be announced at a later date.

This means that if you are not currently on a team, you must show up for try-outs.

Baseball Registration
There are 3 different divisions for baseball. T-Ball has a $115 fee, regardless of when you sign up. The other
baseball leagues has a $135 early registration fee. The registration fee increases to $150 after January 31,
2009. Ages are based on the age of the child as of April 30, 2010.
  • T-Ball - $115
            This is a league for beginning baseball players. This league is for boys ages 4 - 6 and for  girls ages 4 - 7.

  • Rookie League Baseball  - $135 Early Registration, $150 after January 31st. Online Registration is always $135.
            This is a coach pitch league. This league is for boys ages 7 - 8 and for girls of ages 7 - 8, if they do not
            want to start softball just yet.
 
  • Junior-Major Baseball 
            This league is a player pitch league. This league is for boys ages 9 - 10 that are currently on a
            Major or Minor league team roster. The teams shall be drafted independently of their Major or
            Minor league affiliation. Each team shall have their own schedule and uniforms. All upcoming
            9 year old players must participate. This league allows for more instruction and playing time
            than the players might have with their other team. If needed, exceptional 8 year old players will
            be invited to try out for the draft.

            Note that there is no fee for this league. The fee is included in your Major / Minor baseball registration.
 
  • Major / Minor Baseball  - $135 Early Registration, $150 after January 31st. Online Registration is always $135.
            This league is a player pitch league. This league is for boys ages 9 - 12. Each child MUST try-out
            for a major league team. After the try-outs, there will be a draft for all Major league teams. If your
            child is not chosen in the draft, then they will be drafted to a Minor league team. Unlike past years,
            your child is not allowed the option of turning down the invitation to play for a Major league team.
            If your child does not try-out, then they will be randomly assigned to a minor league team. Only
            players that appear on a Major league roster are eligible for All-Star teams that are sponsored
            by NCR.


All players that are not currently on a Major league roster will need to attend the mandatory
try-outs. These shall be scheduled for March 6th at Champions Sports starting at 3:30pm.

Registration Fees and Concession Stand

Northern Cal Ripken, Inc., runs its baseball  leagues solely on the supports of parents and
volunteers. The registration fee covers only a portion of the funds needed to operate the league,
including : accident and liability insurance, umpires, score keepers, baseballs, individual
trophies, equipment, and team drinks.

As such, we require that all parents work a shift in the concession stand for each child in the
league. If you do not wish to work the concession stand, then you may pay a $40 fee to cover the cost
of hiring a replacement. More information about scheduling a shift will be given to you by your child's
coach or team mom.

There is a $15 savings for early registration for baseball. The fee will be $135 for each baseball player
until February 1, 2010. At that point, registration will become $150. For T-ball, the fee is $115 regardless
of time of registration.

There is also a discount if your family has multiple players in the league. You will receive a $10
reduction per player after the first player. For example, if your family has multiple baseball players,
the cost will be $135 for the first player, and $125 for every subsequent player.

This discount is only offered for players from the same household or family. As such, please only
register one family or household at a time.

Note : If you have not registered with Northern Cal Ripken within the last year, you will need to supply 

a copy of the child's birth certificate at the first team meeting.
